Wakeboarding Is Fun When You Have The Right Wakeboard
Liquid Force Wakeboards
Wakeboarding is an exciting sport that anyone can enjoy if they get off to the right start. Learning to wakeboard is a sport that anyone with access to a lake, as well as a boat, can do and it's great for your entire family.
Wakeboards
Just heed these steps and you’ll be having good times wakeboarding before you know it.
1. Wakeboards
The critical part. If you are getting started or you want to have a board that your family can use to check out wakeboarding, you don’t want to get an advanced wakeboard. Very advanced wakeboards will be too hard to control and you will fall more than you ride! Wakeboards such as the Liquid Force Harley Wakeboard are a super choice.
Ask for a board that has a continuous rocker and do not get the more advanced 3-stage rocker.
For board length, you want to pick a wakeboard the matches your weight. Here are the lengths we recommend:
Weight: 90-160 Ibs.
Size: 134 cm
Weight: 160-200 Ibs.
Length: 138 cm
Weight: 200 Ibs.
Size: 142 cm or longer
2. Wakeboard Bindings
For wakeboard bindings there are closed toe and open toe. Beginners should get an open toe binding, as will people that prefer a binding that can fit a few different foot sizes.
Chose the binding that matches your shoe size. For Bindings sized as small, medium, large or x-large, you should try them on to ensure you get the right fit.
3. The One-Size-Fits-All Wakeboard
If you want a wakeboard and binding that you and your friends can use, or that can be left at your cottage for anyone to use, we suggest getting a mid-sized board, such as a 138 and a M/L binding. Just remember that if someone has smaller feet, they should consider sitting this one out rather than risk being hurt. You can also get 2 sizes of bindings as you can quickly switch bindings on the same board.
4. Making your Boat Wakeboard Friendly
Your boat has to be able to tow a person behind it on a wakeboard at about 16-25 mph. If you have an aluminum fishing boat with a 20hp engine, that won’t cut it!
You also need a boat that throws a big wake and you need a hook on the transom to attach a tow rope to.
5. Wakeboard Rope and Handle vs. Ski Rope
You need a wakeboard rope and handle. These don’t cost that much, so I suggest you get one. The good rope will last you a lifetime, so it's good to invest in a good one that is tangle-free and is really comfortable.

Have a great time learning to wakeboard and don’t forget to wear your life vest.
